I agree with londonpride.
Why is your father waiting? It is NOT better to wait. Surgery is needed NOW!
Hello - you do not wait at all in an emergency!
Tell him to go as soon as he possibly can. If he has a detachment then every day he delays makes permanent loss of vision more likely. And if his macula is not affected yet then every HOUR he delays may make a big difference to his outcome.
If he can still read with the affected eye (with the other closed or covered) then his macula is probably still attached, and it's even more important to get to the eye surgeon quickly before it becomes damaged. If he has a dark area in his central vision that stops him reading then the macula has probably already detached. In that case the chances of regaining good vision in that eye are much less, BUT the quicker it's repaired the better.
I wish him good luck,
how much time is better to wait before the surgery?
becaz he is a lawyer
Macula is the center portion of the retina. It is responsible for a person's best vision especially for reading and other things requiring great detail.
Surgery for retinal detachment is always done as soon as possible since it is an emergency and the risk for irreversible sight loss is high.
macula meanS?
upto how long time is better for surgery?
he is a lawyer
Depends on the too many factors: how long the retina has been detached, was the macula detached, etc.
Most cases of retinal detachment do get repaired successfully so vision returns to what it was before the detachment.
wile the vision be improved after the surgery?
If his retina is detached, this is an EMERGENCY! Surgery is the only option. The longer the retina is detached the greater the chances are that damage will be done to the retina and sight will be lost.
If his retina is torn and laser was done in the doctor's office then the eye should be monitored, the retina could still detach.
