post-surgical eyeglass challenges

I'm 61 years old and have worn glasses since I was in kindergarten. Since August, I've had three eye surgeries... a vitrectomy, cataract sugery, and a lensectomy due to complications.

I've now been fiited with new glasses, which include a "slab" in the affected eye.  I've had progressive lenses for years, without problem.  But I'm have a terrible time with this new type of lens.  How long should it take to adjust, and what can be done to help the process.?

Sounds like you had a terrible complication.  Likely your glasses lens are unbalanced due to your surgery and the fact only one eye has had cataract removed. That is called aneisometrophia, it also creates unequal image sizes that is called aneisoconia.

Use the search feature and archives to learn more of those two conditions. You may have to wear a contact lens on one eye. Or you may need to depend on one eye and not the other. Or the problem may continue until the other eye needs surgery. Its a difficult problem
