post vitrectomy surgery

I had vitrectomy surgery and placement of a gas bubble five weeks ago for a detached retina. I feel as if something is in the far, lower, outside corner of the eye. It is very irritating and nothing makes it better. It is not a suture I do not believe as the suture is not over that far in the eyeball.Do you know what may be causing this  new onset irritation?

You need to see your retina surgeon on Saturday if possible or Monday at the latest. It could be a suture, part of the scleral buckle, an exoplant or irritation from the incision site for an infusion port.

In the mean time you can use artificial tears or ointment.

Suture would feel like something in the eye, dirt sand or foreign body?
(I assumed you have tried artificial tears for lubrication without refief)

Does it look like a bubble on the white of your eye?

Either way new changes/problems(especially the very irritating type) warrent an appointment to your retinal surgeon
