post vitrectomy

post vitrectomy

I had a vitrectomy and insertion of a gas bubble in my right eye 7 weeks ago. for a complete retinal detachment caused by hemorrhage post PVD. I now notice that my right eye seems to drift ever so slightly to the right when I am looking straight ahead. Other people can notice it as well. Also my right pupil is slightly more dilated than the left and other people have noticed that as well. ( I am only on Alphagen and I do not take any  drops that cause dilation of the pupil). Is the slight drifting and is the slight dilation of the pupil normal after the vitrectomy? ( I still have a tiny gas bubble present as well) I also now have a thick cataract on the right eye that will be removed  in March.
Thank you so much.

Eye muscle problems (misalignment or strabismus) are pupil abnormalities are common side effects of retinal detachment surgery especially if an encircling band (buckle) was put around the eye. The problems can get better, worse or stay the same.

Alphagan can effect pupil size making it smaller in dark environments. If you stop alphagan you pupil may dilate further.
