pre treating for 2nd cataract PCO
I have heard that some cataract Docs actually cut a small hole in the posterior capsular bag as a forethought to the patient having PCO later. This way they dont have to do the YAG treatment which has risks of its own.
Can I ask the Doctors here if they have ever done this and what they thunk of it..

Very bad idea, rarely to never done (I've never done in over 12,000 cataract operations. Done in infant and children surgery because membrane films over almost 100% of time. Now in adults maybe 25%.
