What is the effect of sudden discontinuation of steroid pill prednisone 20 mg per day tablet after taking it for 4-5 months.

THey could be very serous and the person need to taper off the steroids over about 7-10 days.

I am positive HepB diagnosed 5 days ago, and am also taking 40 mg prednisone for the past 10 days, which now I am told is contraindicated for chronic HepB and can cause death.  How do I taper, or should I stop immediately.  I don't want to die.  Thank you.
