problems w/crystalens, yag

I'm 40 yo.  I had cataract surgery in January & had Crystalens implanted.  After surgery, my distance vision was almost perfect, intermediate was so-so, close up was crummy but a very low reading glass helped. since the cataract surgery, my night vision has been terrible, night-time lights are horrible, create shadows, glare & bluriness. I was told 2 months after cataract surgery the capsular clouded over but YAG procedure would clear it up, but I had to wait 90 days after surgery to have it done. 90 days after first cataract surgery I had YAG on my left eye. that night the night vision was great in that eye, but next night it was bad again. now the night vision is worse, distance is bad, but my close up is now better in that eye. I went in because I was very concerned. wasn't able to see the surgeon, but did see another dr & he said it was healing fine, my distance was worse, but when he had me hold up the black thing to & look thru it with the tiny holes in it, the distance was good looking thru the tiny holes. he said other right (undone) eye was definitely clouded & could understand why he did YAG.

So here's the thing.  I'm supposed to get the other eye (right eye) done on Wednesday, & I'm freaking now.  I was ok & kept thinking it would get better but it hasn't.  Now I'm worried if I have the other eye done & it gets worse too, what do I do, where does that leave me as far as options?  I'm planning to talk to the surgeon & voice my concerns. I know he was disappointed I didn't have better close up vision with the crystalens, but I can live with reading glasses, especially at the low strength I need, & distance was awesome.  but now I feel like I'm back at the beginning.  Because I had the crystalens, the surgeon did say he would do lasik for free at a later date if I needed it. I'm completely frustrated & don't know what to think now. anyone else have a similar experience?

thank you for the response.  I'm just so upset because the distance was so good in that eye before the yag.  I do have an appt with the dr. in the morning.  I'm in a panic and frustrated because it seems like everything the dr told me was going to happen hasn't.  And with the money I paid for the Crystalens, it's very disappointing.  I don't know if it's normal to have this kind of problem after YAG and if there's a chance it will improve at all.

Dear momx2girls,

It is possible that you require a distance correction in the eye and that glasses, contact lens or laser vision correction.  I would recommend that you seek the care of your eyeMD and explain to him/her your symptoms.
