problems with my right eye

I have an infection in my right eye and I just had one a few months ago. I'm going to see my eye doctor tomorrow . In the last two years I’ve  had numerous infections in the same eye and my contact lenses make them worse. My eye MD usually gives me Tobradex, which helps but the eye infections always come back. I believe its something viral like ocular herpes because this all started in 2008 when I had a cold sore. Since then, I’ve also grown several new blood vessels in my eye. For about a month I’ve been experiencing problems with my eye sight ( double vision; things get blurry; white spots in the top of my vision which I think are eyelashes) I'm worried that untreated ocular herpes has caused permanent vision impairment. I had an eye exam two months ago and everything seemed to  be fine. Could a yearly eye exam be able to tell if there is scarring? Is there a different type of eye doctor that could better diagnose this? If I have ocular herpes I don’t want it to be left untreated any longer.

It should be an easy thing to see or rule out.  You are right to be concerned.  See a corneal specialist ophthalmologist.
