prolonged pain after cataract surgery

7 weeks after cataract removal although my sight is excellent I am still having pain in my eye.  The surgeon says its 'unusual' and sends me away with yet another different bottle of eye drops - this is not helping.  Its obvious that he just hopes I'll stop whinging or that time alone will heal.
I cannot read, watch TV or use this computer comfortably.  First thing in the morning the eye is totally pain free but it gets worse as the day goes on until at bedtime I'm swallowing all the pain killers I can lay my hands on.
What could be wrong?  Something's not right here but no-one seems to be able to give me an explanation - not even that its unfortunate but I'm stuck with it!

If the condition is not getting better then ask for a second opinion.  Some people are not completely healed at 7 weeks and still have inflammation in the eye. I would use the medication your surgeon prescribed.
