prosthetic eye

i'm hoping someone can help with some info re prosthetic eyes.
i've become involved in helping a young girl in africa who has recently had to have an eye removed, unfortunately we found out after the op that no prosthetic would be available.
My question is, how unique does the prosthetic have to be in order to fit.
i'm assuming there's no way it can be made to move with the other eye, but anything will be better than the temporary shell that she has now.
does the method of removal limit your choice of prosthetic?
Any info in this area will be greatly appreciated as she's understandibly getting desperate.
thanks in advance

It's very important to leave the temporary shell in (conformer) to save place for a prosthetic eye.

Generally prosthetic eyes are individually molded and handpainted.

You need to speak with an ocularist that makes them.
