pterygium scar tissue

pterygium scar tissue

I had a pterygium removed 1 month ago, and I went into the doctor for a post op checkup because it looks like the graft was actually growing onto my cornea - he used conjuctival graft with glue.  Tiny fingerlike projections were encroaching the iris(colored part of my eye) from the graft, and the doctor said it was just scar tissue and it would heal in about a year and would not be covering the iris anymore?  Is this true?  Will the scar tissue recede so that it is not touching the iris?

This is another one where only by looking at the eye can the question be answered.
