how serious and painful is pterygium surgery?

Pterygium surgery has improved over the past few years.  I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine whether or not you will require surgical intervention and the method he/she recommends.

I had pterigium surgery along with a lens implant. There was no pain during or after.
However my astigmatism increased after the removal.
