ptosis caused by birth trauma?

Im just wondering if ptosis can be caused by trauma at birth?

My daughter is nearly 4 weeks old and was born by vacuum delivery. She was born with a very swollen right eye. It was swollen shut!! And a yellow bruise formed under the eye. Almost like she got punched in the eye :( .. She is being seen by a specalist and has an ultrasound scan in 2 weeks.. But as you can imagine im worried about it.

At the moment she can open her eye just above the pupil which is an improvement. She also seems to have what looks like "marcus gunn jaw winking" when she *****/opens mouth.

Im just wondering if this is trauma to the nerves will it heal by itself? Any advice will be appreciated!! Thanks!

Thank you for your reply..

It does seem to be improving each day. The marcus gunn jaw winking tends to stop after a few seconds of sucking. Which is an improvement in that too..  Thanks again for your reply!!

This probably due to swelling or blood from the vacuum.  It should resolve.  However, your daughter should see a pediatric ophthalmologist for follow-up.

I do not believe the Marcus Gunn Jaw wink is related to the delivery.  Please Google it.
