pupil changing size

pupil changing size

Hi, when i am tired or i am in a dimly lit room and its late at night, my left eye changes size, so my right eye is about twice the size, why is this i have no idea about it, ive had it all my life and have been to optitions and know one knows why, is it a lazy light receptor thats enhanced when i am tired?

If you have had it all your life and it hasn't changed it's called "physiologic ansicoria" and it probably comes from differential enervation of the pupil sizing mechanism. There is no good treatment.

You need to see an ophthalmologist, it is critical you not let the staff put in ANY DROPS until the eye MD looks at your pupils. Also take in 3 or 4 good quality facial pictures (good enough to easily see the pupils) taken over the last 20 years  Find an Eye MD at www.aao.org in the USA elswhere ask your family GP for a referral.
