question about the cycloplegic refraction test?

question about the cycloplegic refraction test?

Is it possible to use pilocarpine after a cycloplegic eye exam in case there is no spasm of accomodation so that i won't be walking around with dilated pupils for like 2-3 weeks..(talking about atropine here)?

thanks,

I would try to stay away from an atropine cycloplegic refraction since the atropine can last a week or two.  In my opinion atropine is out of the question for cycloplegic refraction except for some cases in infants.  In trying to reverse the effect, pilocarpine will have no effect at all since it is nowhere near as strong.  It will not help.  For a cycloplegic refraction, Cyclogyl 1% should be more than sufficient and will usually wear off in about a day.
