question re: color vision

hello,

i have been noticing for the past few months that my color vision changes when i am laying on one side.  if i lay on my right side and close my right eye, my left eye sees things as being grayed out.  when i sit up, it balances out; when i lay on my left side, my right eye color vision is a slight bit grayed out, but not as much as when my left eye is affected.

(i hope that makes sense--it was the only way i could explain it.)

i mentioned this to my neuro-ophthalmologist and he said that many people who are severely near-sighted (like me) have color vision issues.  he did not comment on it being onset by laying on one side or the other.

is this a blood-flow issue?  if not, what would cause this kind of visual change?
