Most Type 2 do well. Many do not need any treatment. You should see a retinal specialist. If needed it can be treated.

You need a good ophtahlmologist who will know what you are talking about. The eyes are nothing to play with.

You need to find an ophthalmologist who specializes in this condition or at least macular degeneration. Just google ophthalmologists in your area and your diagnosis and it should bring up websites where the docs are listing their specialities. If not, then call the offices and ask the receptionist if her doctors specialize in it.
