red in the eye

hi, there, i am on vacation and how worst can it get when I accidentally stuck my finger in the corner of my eye. That happened yesterday, I develped a small red patch and it was quite thick, now today it's still there but it looks thinner..no pain..is there anything I can do? please advise. thanks!

If no pain and no decrease in vision you don't need to do anything to the tiny broken blood vessel.

so grateful that you replied my post so quickly as I am quite in distraught. I am just wondering how long does that redness go away (looks scary)? and any drops I can use? also, does the redness somehow 'bleed' into the eye ball?thanks again! much appreciated!

Its like a bruise and generally takes the same amount of time. The eye will turn yellow after the red then generally whiten up over 10-14 days for most subconjunctival hemorrhages. You can use artifical tears if you have a scratch feeling otherwise leave it along (like a bruise).
