What causes periodic swelling with redness on upper eye lids and red blisters under my eyes? This comes on with no warning. Starts with itching and redness and the swells up and causes huge blisters under my eyes. Makes going out in public next to impossible.
I have red swollen eyelids and my eyes turn very red and hurt, then they become very dry and flakey. This only happens at the time of the month that I would normally have my period. This is hormoneal and has something to do with menopause, but no one can tell me what to do.
Your problem sounds like amixture of dry eyes which could be made worse by hormonal changes and blepharitis which would make your eyes red and hurt. You can use the search feature and archives to read about these two conditions.
Treatment: see the best Eye MD in your area. If you live in a larger area see a external disease/cornea specialist. Find one at www.aao.org
