removing buckle..is it dangerous???

hello sir,
             I had retinal detachment surgery for 3 times and one buckle is there in my eye for retinal support.Few days back i had eye infection and i was told that the buckle was not in its place and its coming out and because of that buckle only i got infection.Is that right because of that buckle in my eye i got infection?? If yes,is that safe enough to remove buckle from my eye?? Doctors are telling, since u have no vision in ur left eye it'll make no difference even if we remove the buckle from the eye.But i'm thinking buckle is placed for retina support so whether removal of it is safe?? they also told that it is coming out and they can see it clearly...

Please clarify my doubt.....thank you

If it is coming out, I don't see problem with removal especially since the eye is blind as you say.  If you leave it in the problems may just go on and on and possible even cause such a serious problem that the whole eye could have to be removed.  If it is sticking out and causing problems and the eye is blind, then you have every right to leave it in if you want to I suppose, but I generally recommend that you follow the recommendation of your ophthalmologist who is looking out for your best interests.

Thank You Doctor for your reply.So i decided for removal of that buckle.Can u tell me if there is any solution for the detached retina.Any possible solution.Because for the last 8 years i'm working with my right eye only.So i asked doctors here also but they told NO solution.Whether eye replacement can be a solution?Somewhere i heard about Artificial Retina,What is that?
