report on eye ulcer

by jappy, Dec 31, 2007 02:53PM
Hi went to the doctor actaully they called me to come in, the specailist I been seeing for I thought it was 9 weeks but it is only 6 weeks. He told me the doctor who saw me saturday said in his report that there was a tear in the 1st layer of the eye due to inflamation (inflammation) that was due to irratation and becasue my eye llooked scratched up.  The doctor that saw me today was my doctors partner because my doctor is out. I was thinking about changing doctors and still am considering it but I dont want to  make the move judt yet they are seeing me again friday  to discuss a treatment plan but want to make sure there is no bacteria in the eye first.  They give me something called
acular - said that would ease pain and discomfort also x2 a day
cyclopentolate hydrochloride solution x3 times a day
to continue vigamox  x4 times a day
and erithomycin ointment x2 a day
Does that acular drop suppose to stop discomfort he sais it was like a asprin for the eye
He also said that my eye seemed very dry and with all the medicine I been putting in it I could not believe that. He said part of the problem is that my eye is dry, though he does see the tear in the eye and I am suseptable to infection. He told me not to cover the eye exactly what you said but I can wear sunglasses everywhere thats ok. So is that acular drop suppose to stop the pain. I understand that the next drop I put down under that is suppose to dilute your eye Right? Well thanks again for your help.

acular is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory. You likely will need tylenol asprin or Motrin like compounds in addition to Acular.  Cyclopentolate is a dilating eyedrop to put the iris at rest and try and help heal and reduce pain.
