during my journey in train on 2nd of september i was hit from outside by a stone in my eye.i got multiple injury in my retina  and retina detachement as told to me by doctors at sankra netralyas at chennai. they done the surgery of my right eye on 14 september. they told me that there are very rare chances of getting retina recovered and hence little chace of vision of through this eye.but stll i have  a little perception of light..
how much time generally it take  get retina recovered fron injury and detachment ?
i want to ask whether there are chances of my retina recovery or not..? if not whether i am able to read eight to ten hours a day?
can there are chances of getting the vision of left eye poor with this problem or not?

By far the most important thing for you is to protect your "good eye" from disease or injury. You should wear impract resistant glasses (even if they do not have a prescription in them) to prevent another injury.

If you vision has not come up in the injured eye by 4 to 6 months after injury its not likely to improve further.

Your other eye will not get poorer due to the hitting incident, you must take good care of this left eye like wearing safety glasses for protection against direct eye traumas.

Since now much of the vision is coming from left eye you should take proper rest to reduce eye strain.

Vision quality from right eye may slightly improve in coming days but will not be comparable with the other eye so it will not be used by your brain for vision.
