retina detachment

Hello,
Two months ago my grandma was told she has holes in her retina and that she needed surgery. She did the surgery as outpatient and they inserted a gas bubble in her eye.....the gas bubble went away after about 5 weeks and when she went to the doctor (who did her surgery) several time, he told her should should see by now, but she only see blur in the eye that the surgery was preformed on.

now the doctor told her she needs another surgery because he believe that macula is detached and she need another surgery ..

but she is so afraid to do another surgery.

Please advice what should we do next? will she ever regain some vision back

You have to discuss with your surgeon.  Retinal detachment success rate is about 95%.  That means 1/20 will not have a successful outcome.
