retina hole

I am 25 years old man. I am wearing glass -8.25 and -6 . recently when I approached my eye dr
she told I have small hole in my left eye (-8.25) retina. She told it is more important to attend the same than lasik . She did a small surgery to fuse it. She told it is ok. Why this is occured, is it because of high myopia. I want to do Lasik Whether it is advisabel. Will ther be any complication after 15 to 20 years. Is it safe to go for Lasik. Can it prevent further increase of power.

Not all holes need treatment. Holes are more common in high myopes. There is some risk that lasik could make the hole bigger so if your going to have it most often the hole is sealed with laser or cryotherapy.
