retinal detachment

retinal detachment

i am 48 yrs old. in december 2006 scleral buccal was done for rd in my left eye involving macula.  right eye retina was intact and laser treatment was given as a preventive measure.after surgery vision did not improve.
now with corrective glasses right eye vision is 6/6 and left eye vision is 6/24.

i am anesthesiologist. with this vision i did not find any problem at work ( laryngoscopy, intubation of trachea. spinal epidural block. nerve blocks).

left eye is having following status
chalezion + foe more than 1 1/2 yrs. cornea - clrar, anterior chember- clear, pupil- acting, lens-Psc+,
posterior segment
media-hazy. disc-normal, vessels-normal, no diabetic or hypertensive changes, old rd with buccal efort, no FR, color vision - defective.

when i see with left eye i find the object of half the size and distant. blurring is present and distorsion of the edges.

am i fit to work as anesthesiolgist with right eye vision.

With all due respect - I cannot answer your question.  Only you and your ophthalmologist can determine that.
