retinal detachment

my husband recently underwent scleral buckle procedure for a detachment in the upper part of his retina.it is now 3 wks since the surgery,the doc says we are coming along fine,the retina is flat.however yesterday he went without his eye patch and had a severe headache.i am very worried.the headaches subsided after he took some painkillers.

I had undergone scleral buckling 6 weeks back
Keep regular follow up with your Doc.
Do not worry as long as his retina is attched - flat
