retinal detatchment

retinal detatchment

an athlete was struck in the head and had significant swelling and trauma to the left side of her face and eye. she had minor complaints of vision problems and was sent to the ER and refered to a ear, nose and throat Doctor. after her vision cleared up she did not have any complaints. this was over a year ago. just recently she was wrestleing with her boyfriend and struck in the head again. she had bleeding in the eye and visual distirbances. she was refered to the Opthomologist who concluded that she had a detatched retina. he also stated that she had scar tissue. could the injury sustained over a year ago have any impact on her retinal detachment.

No way to tell. If she did not have the first times: floaters, flashes, loss of peripheral vision likely not the first injury.
