Retinal dye injection hole, 20/200 vision has been told by Dr that there is "no treatment, or surgical options available". He wanted to join the Airforce and is now worried that he won't be accepted. Any information would be greatly appreciated. P.W

I assume you are referring to macular holes which are holes in the retina in the are of best vision. Tbese can be treated surgically if they are found early, but holes of longstanding
duration usually do not improve with surgery. You will have to check with the air force regarding vision requirements, but this may limit his acceptance and will probably prevent him from being a pilot even if accepted.
