retinal holes

i went to an eye cinic as i was referred by my doc for lasik. There on scanning they found that i have 3 holes in my right eye and one in the left. They told to do the laser treatment for retinal holes next week and wait for one month for the lasik.i`ve -6.5 in both eyes. i want to know about the risks involved in nthe treatment. shall i remain with glass after retinal holes treatment or go for lasik after that.

The risks of the surgery can only be give by the surgeon that has looked at the eye. Generally they will include failure to prevent retinal detachment, need for more treatment, swellling of the retina, macular membrane or cystoid macular edema.

If you have it done and go ahead with the lasik I generallly adivse waiting 6-8 weeks or longer.

I suggest that you see an experienced, board-certified retinal specialist and follow his/her treatment recommendations about the retinal holes.  In your place, I wouldn't consider having LASIK before the retinal specialist thought that it was safe to proceed.
