retinal problem

I had a post of visit with my physician last week. On examination she stated that I have a problem with my retina and also need laser due to clouding after restor implantation, which she will open this area up after I have seen a retinal specialist, My question is : is or would the problem with the retina be a direct cause from the cataract surgery/restor lense implant. There is a wave distortion in the right eye which the dr says would be causing the distortion,   I did not have this distortion prior to the surgery.

Distortion means there is macular distortion.  This could be due to a macular pucker (wrinkle in the macula), macular edema, or a vascular occlusion in the macular area.

The macular edema could be a complication of the cataract surgery with an uncomplicated surgery.  The incidence of macular edema will increase with complications of cataract surgery.
