ring

I have been to 3 opthamology specialists and they say I have a posterior vitreous detachment.  What I have is gray hollow rings that move with my vision. I questioned them about it and they said no weiss rings because they move around your vision.  I feel like they are looking for something that is not there.  I have had these rings for over a year, but my vision is good, what I see through and around the rings.  Are there any specialists that deal with weiss rings, I want another opinion.  I don't want them putting me on drops if not necessary.

You may have entoptic phenomenon. It is not Weiss Ring. Draw a picture how it looks like and take to your ophtalmologist. Also are you seeing Purkynie tree in semi light ?

Or it could be so called Maxwell's spot (entoptic phenomenon) . Have a look on a website, draw picture what you see and go to your doctor.

No Weiss rings are common and do not require any special training to diagnose. Weiss rings are not always "rings" because they often tear (like a donut) and can look like strings, crescents, etc.

Since 3 our of 3 say you have PVDs and Weiss rings come off the back of the eye due to PVD I don't see what the problem is.
