running and retinal detachments.

by RUNNERNANCY, Apr 11, 2007 12:00AM
I am a -22.00 in my left eye and -5.00 in my right eye. My retina has detached in the left eye. Nov. 30th I had a vitrectomy with gas bubble and detached again end of February. March 7th. i had a scleral buckle and gas bubble. It has since detached again. I am now scheduled for oil. I have not been running with all this going on, but do you see a problem with me resuming running after a reasonable post-op period? I am 47 years old and healthy. I don't want to put my right eye at risk.
