severe astigmatism

i have had this from birth but now that i am older when i go to have my eyes tested it feels like my whole head is shaking but they said it is my eye it is called something like astigmatism but i cant remember the right word they said that this cant be fixed due to the severity of the problem i am only 46 and it is making me depressed as they said there will never be a treatment for my eyes i am not suitable for laser treatment they said it would be doubtful anyone would touch my eyes are they right

It could be nystagmas as the previous post said.  I'm sorry but I don't have enough info to be any assistance.  See an EyeMD ophthalmologist for a second opinion.
