severe eye allergies

I have had red, swollen, irritate eyes for the past 2 months. I have been the my eye doctor several times. First he gave me zylet, which helped at first.  He told me that i have a infection in my eye from chemical fumes. Then later, my eyes became red, swollen, they hurt so bad, that I couldn't even open my eyes, and they are draining so bad that people think that i am crying. I went back to the doc. he told me that I have severe allergies, and to start pantenday (that new patenol used once a day) I tried that , and it burned my eyes, and made things worse. I went back, he told me to take the zylet 4 times a day for a week, which i have done, and my eyes are no better, in fact I think they are worse. He has given me a prescription now for patonal, and that is not helping either.  I do not think I can go another day like this, my eyes are killing me, they are so pouring water, and now my entire eye hurts (both of them). I dont know what do do, I would like to get a second opinion, should I go see a regular doctor or another eye doctor? Please any advice would be appreciated, i am desperate.
