should I keep wearing contacts?

So this morning I was cleaning my left contact lense (just to be safe since I had put lotion on my face and my eye was feeling a little irritated though I didn't see anythilng go in the eye.) I put it back in my eye once I cleaned it and it was even more irritated and this time red. So I took it out again, cleaned the lense again as well as my eye and I felt a lot better, the redness disapeared as well. Now my only problem is my left eye is feeling uncomfortable but the feeling isn't terrible.

I'm worried though, should I keep wearing contacts for the day? is there any chance of infection? should I take them out again if I see changes?

BTW, this is my first time wearing contacts. I've been wearing it for three days now and my eye hadn't been red since my first day of wearing contacts.

Everyone that wears contacts needs to be under the care of an optometrist or an ophthalmologist and you need to direct your questions to him/her. Leave the contacts out till you discuss.
