slight conjuctivitis lingering

slight conjuctivitis lingering

I had the flu or some cold/ virus in the beg of January 2008. I touched one of my eyes and the virus got into my eye. It became conjuctivitis ( pink  eye)  and eventually my other eye was affected. I went to the doctor and he gave me Polymyxin B drops which I took for 7 days. The redness in the eyes and sticky mucus drainage disappeared.

Heres my question. Its now 2 months later and I still have very very slight drainage. It can be alittle crusty. Its just a tiny amount. maybe once or twice a day. Is this normal? Should I continue to take the polymyxin for a few more days?

Viral eye infections can last this long, especially adenovirus. Consider stopping the polymyxin as drug allergcy can cause similiar problem. If the problem persists see an Eye MD  find one at www.aao.org
