small black dots

I have a small question. I occasionally get small round dots ( about the size of a pin head ) that flost around in my vision- they come and go .  They are not like the typical floaters that look like fuzzy cobwebs .  I had been told the dots were just floaters and not near bad enough for Vitrectomy  ( agreed I had a Vitrectomy in other eye and all clear )
When I got home from my checkup I thought a doc had told me some time ago the dots were small specs of blood-
I am right and all floaters whether round or spider web like are simply blood that gets flushed away?   Just curious they aren't bad ( maybe 5 or six at a time most ) just wondered what the composition of floaters were and if the small round dots are blood or if I have it mixed up with something else.

Thanks

I have not found Uveitis on any my MD's encounter forms - actually I do have many of the symptoms listed- however I definately have Occular Rosacea and thats pretty well  substantiated- I do have dry eye following multiple surgerys- I do have elevated pressures-( glaucoma ) and have had multiplre retina tears and holes as well as one detatchment repaired with buckle. I have been tolsd as a result of all listed above I have chronic conjunctivitis- WHEW- I will mention Uveitis on my next visit- I had two docs put me on steriods which had a positive effect on vision as well as discomfort-however my pressures went sky high and they were discontined due to Optic nerve damage noted on
computer scan. Thanks for the input- currently I am on Celluvisc for dry eye- and have multiple bottles of eye wash that I use a few times a day as well as on TetraCycline and to date with the exception of visual acuity has reduced many of the discomforts. Its been a while since they tryed steriods maybe they have an alternate that doesnt elevate pressures- I will check.

Hi,
Have you been checked for uveitis? My auto immune eye disease, uveitis started with those tiny black specks that floated before my eyes.
