specialist?

I suffer from iritis and my opthalmologist had all the iritis-related blood tests ordered for me and they all came out normal. He says I have had the iritis "Unusually long". I am on eye drops. My vision is getting worse. My doctor wants to see me in 6 weeks and said he would give me a shot in the eye if the drops hadn't worked by then. I have had the iritis since March. Should I try to see an iritis specialist or does it sound like everything that can be done has been done by my current opthalmologist? Thank you.
