squint after Lasik

can lasik cause a squint in the eyes? and is a squint a cause of blurred vision?

by a squint i mean a slight eye deviation.

Yes, LASIK can cause a deviation in alignment.  This can produce double vision or the ghosting of images.  An ophthalmologist who specializes in strabismus can treat this problem.

Depends on the cause.  First you need a cycloplegic refraction, just like you had before LASIK.

I seem to have developed the same problem but I am still able to read and focus on the TV. However, my eyes get very tired quickly. Can you update your progress as you continue through the process?

of course... today is my 17th day post Lasik, the squint has definitely improved and is hardly noticeable any more but it is still there. I was told that I have always had it but it got worse after the surgery, of course i didn't know i had it before. Now my vision is still unstable, sometimes i wake up with blurred vision and it gets better over three or four hours, I am guessing its because of my very dry eyes after the surgery. Now the biggest problem seems to be the double vision I am having, which is very annoying, I can't focus on anything for long and it makes me dizzy watching TV for long.... A couple of my friends who have done lasik a long time ago told me that they had similar issues and they dissolved one month post surgery, so fingers crossed, hope ours will as well.... let me know how things go... good luck

I think that the 17th day is too early to worry about dry eyes or the problem you are experiencing. I found that finding stress relieving activities (meditation, qigong, etc.) were extremely helpful in getting my mind off of things.

ya you definately need to not think about it too much... my dry eyes are getting better but my vision is still kinda weird and i still can't focus on things right, and its annoying when someone points out my squint lol I have my 1 month post op appointment on wednesday so we'll see what happens....

I am 18 months post Lasik surgery and still have blurred vision, squint in my right eye and sometimes double vision!!
