starbursts, halos, floaters

Hi everyone

For the past month or so I have been experiencing starbursts around car headlights, street lights, etc only at night. It is not too severe and does not have any affect on driving...more annoying. I also notice faint halos. Along with this, I have been noticing floaters in my eyes..not too many but I notice them on light surfaces. Also when I watch television in the dark and I blink, I see like a quick trail of light comming out of the bottom of the t.v. Only last a split second while blinking. I went to an opthamologist and had my eyes dilated...he said my eyes are perfect and its nothing to worry about. I didn't get a chance to ask him what is causing it. Any thoughts? I'm 21 years old. No blurriness, pain.

I doubt at your age that these are related.

starbursts suggest a need for glasses perhaps small amount astigmatism, corneal disease, cataracts or macular disease.   Your Eye MD should have found these if present.

Use the search feature to read about floaters.

tail of light not likely indigative of anything serious.

Probably just watch and see if anything else develops or if things get worse. If so get a second opinion.

I currently wear glasses. I mostly need them when watching t.v and reading but I wear them all the time. I also recently had an eye exam prior to the starbursts appearing and my eye vision hasn't changed in a year. So should I just try to ignore it? I'm just stumped for what can be the cause of this...not worried just interested if that makes sense. haha
