strabismus- cross eyed

Hi,
I have had an eye problem since I was a child and my parents did nothing about it then, because I don't think that they thought anything could be done. I have got strabismus, and it is my right eye that points towards my nose.
and while I was doing an assignment of mine I found a part in the book talking about Strabismus and that it could be corrected when you are a child, but you cant fix it as an adult.
I hope that you can provide me with some information about whether this problem can be fixed as it caused me many problems as a teenager, and sometimes still gets in my way as an adult. ( I am 20 years old).

Thank you for your time...

Dear zee6,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD.  Strabismus can be treated as an adult as well as a child; however, if you have developed amblyopia [or a lazy eye], it may not be able to be improved.
