strabismus surgery

by metaphesis, Apr 15, 2008 04:10PM
I read about the Recession and Resection Procedures for the eye muscles to correct strabismus,so if a doctor did two surgeries for the strabismus correction, which were not successful, and i dont know if he cut or shortened some muscles of the eye ,does that mean if i go to another eye surgeon he cant operate on my eyes because he cant cut or change the muscles anymore as a result from previous operations,so that means its irreversible ???please help im so confused, that means the doctor destroyed my eyes...no other options???

Eye muscle surgery can be repeated even on the muscles that were operated on. Generally its easier to operate on muscles that have not had previous surgery.
