strange feeling in right side of face

I have a strange and non-painful intermittent feeling in the right side of my face. I notice the feeling mostly in my right eye, but I can also feel it in my right cheek and even the upper right side of my gums and the upper right lip.

There is no itching, swelling or rashness or discoloration of any kind.

The best way I can describe the feeling is a sort of cooling or menthol --not really numb in any way and not painful either, but definitely pronounced and odd!

What could this be? Nerve damage?

It could be a paresthesia or irritation/stimulation of the nerves beneath the skin. If it has come on suddenly in the last day or two it can often signify the onset of Shingles (herpes zoster). In any case I would suggest getting in to see a neurologist as there are some serious things that can cause those types of symptoms.
