surgery for the optic nerve possable

when i was 20 years old i had a stroke and it damage the optic nerve in my right eye and i know i should be greatful that im still here but i dont feel all that lucky i feel its ruined my life i cant do most things i used to its hard to drive im always bumping into thing i cant even put makeup on i just cant deal anymore and i just want to be back to normal please help me is there any thing that i can do or a dr can do to make me normal again

Surgery on the optic nerve or brain to help your problem is not feasible in almost all situations. there is a new and very controversial form of neuro-ophthalmology technique that recruits other areas of the brain to "see" into the areas damaged by the stroke.

I would suggest you see a neuro-ophthalmologist to discuss and to find the nearest center doing this type of work. NOTE: this is not the same as optometric visual therapy.
