swollen eyelids

i have just noticed that my right eyelid is swollen. it has been itchy for a couple of hours, and i have been scratching it without a second thougth. it is a little red arounf my eyelashs. my eye itself isnt affected.
what could this be?

You could do couple of things

clean your eye lashes, lid margins, over the lid, eye brows etc with diluted baby shampoo.

apply warm compress on lid margins.

if itching is severe enough instead of rubbing you may apply fresh honey in those areas.
