tear duct was blocked but, something passed through

   Hi, I am a 24 yr old female that has had a watery eye and yellow discharge for about a month now. I went to see my eye doctor and she said it was a blocked tear duct so, she put some numbing medicine in my eye and tried to probe it. As she was probing it I could feel the pressure almost like it was moving up to to top of my nose. She said the probe didn't work so, it was time for surgery which we scheduled for the second week of Sept. A few days went by after my probe and the pressure was intense and I started feeling tremendous pain. I called and spoke with a nurse for the eye doctor because, she was gone for the day. The nurse said it could be from the probe and to try some artificial tears and motrin and see if that helps to ease the pain. I got off the phone and put the artificial tears in and suddenly felt something that I haven't felt in a month. A runny nose. My nose had been stopped up since my duct had been clogged. I blew my nose and seconds later felt something drop into the back of my throat. I don't know what it is but, it's a peice of something gray with white around it maybe like infection. Sudenly the pain and pressure was gone and my eye completely stopped tearing!!! As discusting as it is, I think that was the problem and I saved it in a ziplock incase the doctor wants to see it. My doctor is out for the week so, I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what in the world this could be? I have searched my heart off on the internet and can't find anything about it.
