Hi! Two weeks ago, my vision in right eye suddenly went dark for a minute. It scares me because it only happened on my right eye while my left eye was okay. May I know why it happens and is it dangerous even though it only happens once?
You need to see an ophthalmologist Eye MD for a complete eye exam and tell them about the problem. You also need to see your persona physician for a general physical and close exam of your cardiovascular and neurological systems. It some cases this can indicate a serious problem.
Hi, I went to see a Dr today-but she wasn't an ophthalmologist, and she did RAPD test and also contraction test? I don't know the name is but she said there's nothing wrong with my eyes and pupils reactivity also are equals. And my va in right eye : 6/24, left : 6/6. Should I still go to see an ophthalmologist regarding the temporary loss of vision?
You need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist ASAP. Your vision in your RE in abnormal and you apparently don't have an explanation for it. Start working on seeing an Eye MD as soon as possible. Ask your family MD to help you or when you call an ophthalmologist see if you can be worked in as an emergency.
So I went to see ophthalmologist this morning and they said that both eyes are okay and their concern is about the lost of vision and that also still in question as they do not know the exact reason why it happens because I had no headache at that time and so they suspected that it might be amourosis fugox but that also debatable because they said it usually happens to someone who suffer from other disease while I don't have any illnesses but they said that they will do further investigation so they did blood test on me. So all I need to do is wait until next appointment which in a month from now. But is there any chances for someone that don't have any other diseases to get amourosis fugox?
On March 29 you posted "my va in right eye : 6/24, left : 6/6." You did not post whether the RE could be corrected to 6/6 (metric 20/20) with glasses. If so not a problem is the eye exam was normal. You are vague and do not state in this post if the RE still has subnormal vision. If it does and glasses did not make it normal and the internal eye exam is normal then you need to continue a extensive workup that may include MRI of head.
QUESTION: This past vision what was the vision in each eye and could the RE be corrected to 6/6 with glasses? THAT IS THE KEY ISSUE TO YOUR PROBLEM.
I'm sorry for sounding vague. I'm a patient and I don't know what to be told and what not to be told. Yesterday when I went to see the Eye MD, I wasn't told that my RE can be corrected to 6/6 with glasses or not, all I was told is that both eyes are fine. And during the va test yesterday, I figured the vision was the same as I posted on March 29 and just below the RE result ph was written with 6/18 and so I assumed that it can be corrected with glasses? that's why I told you that both eyes are okay.I am sorry if the lack of information I gave confused you, but I told you only what I was told. And yesterday all the Eye MD talked about were the loss of vision and amourosis fugox, other than that I am totally clueless where my eyes problem going to.
Where do you live? You should be able to get a direct answer to a direct question from your ophthalmologist. In some countries physicians are more aloof, non-communicative and bombastic than others. Perhaps you have access to an Eye MD that will answer your question. Without the information denied to you I cannot give any more information. RE ph 6/18 is NOT NORMAL. ph means pin hole and is a quick way of checking to see if vision comes up. If your eye was less than 6/6 without glasses and the problem was just you needed glasses then pin hole would be 6/6
