temporary loss of vision

temporary loss of vision

I took a 40 min nap and woke up with blurry vision. The right eye, my best eye, couldn't see well. The vision was almost good after 5 minutes, but it my left eye was doing all the work. It took almost half an hour to recover my vision on my right eye. However, when i could see I also got an eye ache. I wonder if it is related to migraine or if i hurt my eye when I was sleeping?

Those are two possibilities.  It is also possible that you had a TIA or transient ischemic attack which is like a stroke that began but stopped and left no permanant effect.  I would definitely have this looked into immediately and would not make any assumptions that it was just a migraine.  You should see your primary care doctor and an ophthalmologist right away and if any symptoms occur again, go to the emergency room right away.  A friend of ours (about 45) just had similar symptoms and was found to have a small stroke and is still in the hospital undergoing tests.

Dear claudiaojo,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD. This may represent a minor or major issue depending on your age, health issues and appearance of your eye.
