temporary nightblindness in one eye?

temporary nightblindness in one eye?

After turning out the lights, I can see properly, in the low light, for about two seconds.  Then I get a non-painful 'flush' feeling in one eye, which is always the right eye.  My vision then changes in that one eye.  In the dim light I can see properly out of my left eye.  The vision in my right eye, however, becomes darker than the left.  Also, if I close one eye, then the other, I can see that the right eye sees the room with a cool, blue tint washed over everything;  the left eye continues with the usual warm, red tint washed over everything.  This will last for a few seconds to a few minutes.  Then the 'flushed' feeling subsides and my vision returns to normal. This happens about once every few weeks.  It has occured for about ten years.  I am in my early forties.  I have estigmatism. I recently had an eye exam to get new glasses; all was reported to be well.  Any ideas of the cause.  Should I be concerned?

Dear roswellmom,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD and explain this phenomenom.  This may represent a vascular issue and warrants further examination.
