toric iols

I am a 60 year old female and am going to have cataract surgery very soon. My myopia is accompanied by severe astigmatism.  My surgeon has recommended toric IOLs and I am wondering if there is one toric IOL that is significantly more successful than another .  Is a silicone lens replacement preferable to acrylic or visa versa?  I experience glare now (pre-surgery) when I drive and am hoping to reduce that with the cataract operations (both eyes planned, two weeks apart).  I also have glaucoma that is controlled well by drops at the present time, but may need surgery sometime in the future.  Any suggestions regarding the cataract surgery,  particularly the IOL choice, would be extremely helpful.

From everything I've read, the new Alcon AcrySof toric IOL provides better vision than older toric IOLs, which reportedly had a greater tendency to rotate in the eye.  All of the Alcon AcrySof IOLs are acrylic.  In most situations, I don't think that the choice of a silicone vs. an acrylic lens is important.  Maybe one of the forum doctors can address this question for you.
